INHABIT: The Book
In October 2024, artist Beth Kirby conducted a project named Inhabit - part residency, part performance, part exhibition - at 17 Midland Road Gallery, Bristol.
Beginning the week with an empty gallery, she drew 30 different people, mostly composed of strangers who had applied to take part, and produced over 100 pieces of artwork. After 5 days, all the work produced in the timeframe was hung to form a short exhibition.
Inhabit: The Book documents how the project grew and developed, with Beth Kirby recording her experiences and work produced, outlined here in the 'Diary' portion of the book. The book ends in a thoughtful and reflective essay on the effects and results of the project.
